Support for Azure Virtual network (VNet) flow logs
This release adds support for Azure Virtual network (VNet) flow logs to Fusion. VNet flow logs are a new capability available in Microsoft Azure that allows you to create flow logs at the scope of your virtual networks.
When you navigate to Settings > Data Managment > Sources, you can Add a new Source: Azure VNet.
Previously, Azure supported flow logs only for Network Security Groups (NSG), which limited your ability to observe traffic in flow logs from certain Azure services that could not pass traffic through an NSG, and also required configuring NSGs in your Azure environment for flow logging to work.
Microsoft and Netography continue to support Azure NSG flow logs, but you may wish to consider migrating from NSG to VNet flow logs in the future.
Microsoft provides instructions and scripts to assist in this migration in Azure: Migrate from network security group flow logs to virtual network flow logs.
For details on how to configure and use Azure Virtual Network flow logs in Fusion, refer to the Azure Virtual network (VNet) Flow Log Setup page.
For customers with a significant number of Azure subscriptions or virtual networks, Netography has developed cloud onboarding automation using Terraform to assist you in enabling Azure VNet flow logs across an Azure tenant and onboarding to Fusion. This is currently available in Early Access for Netography customers. To learn more and gain access to the onboarding automation, contact Netography Support .
